1200S Speedster Sport Plans
Planning to build from a full kit? Plans credit
If you pay for the 1200S full kit, or pay a layaway down payment for it, within 60 days of paying for these plans, we'll credit the price you paid for the plans, excluding tax and shipping, toward that kit.
The credit isn't applied at online checkout. Keep your order number and request the credit before you pay for the kit.
How the plans credit worksStart your 1200S Speedster Sport project with model-specific aircraft plans. Review the design, prepare your workspace and budget, then choose whether to buy Mini-Kits in stages or a full airframe kit.
Mini-Max USA plans for the 1200S Speedster Sport. An open-air 4-stroke Sport model path with 24-inch cockpit width.

Your next step after plans
Plans are documentation, not an aircraft kit or a materials package. Choose the exact model you intend to build; Mini-Kit sections and full kits are purchased separately.

What's Included+
Official Mini-Max USA documentation for the 1200S Speedster Sport so you can study the aircraft, understand the build, compare your build path, and budget before ordering Mini-Kits or a full kit.
- Aircraft study and build reference material.
- Guidance to compare Mini-Max models and plan a realistic budget.
- A clear path toward Mini-Kits, a full kit, or builder-assist support.
Plans and manuals are licensed for permitted personal use and may not be copied, shared, uploaded, resold, or distributed without written permission from Mini-Max USA.
Build Time & Skill Level+
Estimated build time depends on the kit level you choose and your experience. Prefab wing ribs and prefab metal parts meaningfully reduce build time.
- Base kit build time: 300-350 Hours
- Prefab quick-build kit build time: 200-250 Hours
This is an amateur-built, wood-and-fabric aircraft designed for hands-on homebuilders. Typical skills:
- Basic woodworking, measuring, and drilling
- Riveting and assembly of metal parts
- Epoxy work and fabric covering
- No welding or advanced machining required for a standard build
Mini-Max USA builder-assist support is available to help you finish.
Part 103 & Experimental+
The 1200S Speedster Sport is typically completed and licensed as an Experimental Amateur-Built (E-AB) aircraft. Under the FAA 'major portion' (51%) rule, a homebuilt aircraft you build for education and recreation can receive a special airworthiness certificate in the Experimental Amateur-Built category.
- N-number registration and an airworthiness inspection are required before first flight.
- The builder of the major portion may apply for a Repairman Certificate for that aircraft.
- May be flown by Sport Pilot or Private Pilot certificate holders, depending on the aircraft and pilot.
- A low-cost, wood-and-fabric homebuilt — a practical way to build and fly your own airplane and accumulate flight time affordably.
Final category, eligibility, and operating limitations depend on your build, documentation, inspection results, and applicable regulations. You are responsible for registration, certification, and legal operation. No listing statement is an FAA determination.
Shipping & Returns+
Most in-stock items ship within 3–5 business days. Full aircraft kits and large or heavy items may ship by motor freight, and transit times vary.
For returns, freight quotes, or questions, review our Refund Policy, see Shipping & Pickup, or contact us.
