Every Mini-Max family traces back to one airplane: the Original 1100R, a single-seat, wood-and-fabric aircraft that was practical for homebuilders and fun to fly.

The Speedster, Coupe and Hi-Max families are later developments of that design concept: an open cockpit, a covered cockpit, and a high wing.
