Layaway is not financing. It is a voluntary payment arrangement, not a loan, financing agreement or extension of credit. You are not borrowing money from Mini-Max USA.
- Choose your model, kit level and term, then send the layaway request. No payment is taken on the request page.
- We email you a secure invoice for the down payment plus the crating fee.
- After you pay, your aircraft serial number is assigned and your contract is sent for signature.
- Make your monthly payments by check or ACH. Only cleared funds count.
When the kit ships. Your kit does not ship all at once. Kit sections are released in stages as your cleared payments reach each release threshold in the agreement. Estimated timing for the term you picked: the first sections release with the down payment, and the final sections release in month the last month. The complete kit has been delivered only after your final payment clears. Release months are estimates, not promises.
Not included. Shipping, freight, insurance, taxes and any options you add are not part of the payment shown. Shipping charges for each release are paid before that section ships.
Read before you request. Amounts paid are non-refundable to the fullest extent the law allows, and missed payments pause releases (30-day cure notice before any cancellation). The full terms are on the layaway page.

We'll credit the price you paid for them, excluding tax and shipping, toward this full kit if you pay for the kit, or pay your layaway down payment, within 60 days of paying for the plans. Plans for a different model don't count.

Every Mini-Max full aircraft kit is sold at three kit levels. The airplane, the plans and what the kit includes do not change between levels. What changes is how much of the wing-rib building and metal-part fabrication is finished before the kit ships.

Estimated build time depends on the kit level you choose and your experience. Prefab wing ribs and prefab metal parts meaningfully reduce build time.

Part 103 & Experimental+
The 1100R Mini-Max is typically completed and licensed as an Experimental Amateur-Built (E-AB) aircraft. Under the FAA 'major portion' (51%) rule, a homebuilt aircraft you build for education and recreation can receive a special airworthiness certificate in the Experimental Amateur-Built category.
- N-number registration and an airworthiness inspection are required before first flight.
- The builder of the major portion may apply for a Repairman Certificate for that aircraft.
- May be flown by Sport Pilot or Private Pilot certificate holders, depending on the aircraft and pilot.
- A low-cost, wood-and-fabric homebuilt — a practical way to build and fly your own airplane and accumulate flight time affordably.
Final category, eligibility, and operating limitations depend on your build, documentation, inspection results, and applicable regulations. You are responsible for registration, certification, and legal operation. No listing statement is an FAA determination.
